We are 1 year into to our cohort, and I’m noticing a ton of success, here’s what I wrote to all our founders after advising everyone to start a Youtube Shorts and Reelz channel giving their daily updates, rather than just typing it out. If you are reading this, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND posting a DAILY UPDATE on your journey across linkedin, youtube shorts, and instagram reelz. The more people believe you are going to be a winner (Proof of Work) the more you become it.
This simply needs to be recognized and fought against, founders should recognize that they own the future of their ship.
Persist will accelerate, advise, support, and demand good stewardship of them as captain but ultimately they are the captains and they create the success or get shut down.
I think a lot of the best tactics, the best compliments to a companies success comes from certain small acts.
For example, when I first was running Betarian I recognized that my main customers would be searching for “Buy Ethereum with PayPal” and that the top 10 results were blogs ran by people saying no one currently offered that, so I went forth and crafted a personal email to each one getting myself listed on some of those blogs and that’s what drove 100% of my revenue half a million dollars the next 4 months.
It’s these small plays, that only the captain can identify, and take advantage of that once a product is finished can make up 80-90% of its success.
It’s not going to be the same for you, this is just an example of the search process a founder does with 0 support, I knew it was do or die for me.
It’s funny, support is a double edged sword, it’s great for cutting through and helping but the downside must be understood and avoided or else you die by the sword.
The downside is not realizing you are in the drivers seat and only you can do those minute things, through obsession of success, to win.
Other examples include messaging the right hire on twitter, cold emailing the right investor, or diving deep into your user experience.
Ultimately this is all boiled down to attention, attention from the right people is the key to success, as well as the information that’s presented.
Its why I’m so bullish on everyone doing these video formats for their updates, when you post your update on our telegram it’s only value is showing me and the team progress, it can never amount to ANYTHING more. Yet when it’s turned into a video narrative, you not only inevitability grow your following an audience, that audience sees right into your life’s work and growth, you help inspire others and each post is a lottery ticket to overnight virality and ultimately success.
One viral post and our sword at Persist of VC relationships will be activated, because that’s what all the fat cats (VC’s) really want to see early on is some hype!
It also gives you an eternally larger following etc etc. All the value is here!
